4 p.m. on Thurs., May 15, 2025. I just received an update from the Water Dept. The water break is not fixed yet. The break has proven to not be a quick fix, but the crew will remain on the scene until the repair is done. Some of you may still not have water. Please be patient as the crew is doing their best to restore your water quickly.
Because we’re getting late into the day and “after hours”, we wanted you to be assured that the crew will stay on the scene until the problem is resolved. While we’re not expecting any type of emergency to happen this evening, we wanted to provide you with an emergency number if the need arises. You would call Broome County Emergency Services at (607) 778-1911. Explain to them that you live in the Town of Binghamton and you need to get in touch with someone in the Town of Binghamton Water Dept. They will relay the message to the Water Dept. crew.
As always, when the water does comes back on, run the cold water first and allow any rust to clear. Once the cold water clears, you can turn your hot water on.
Thank you for your patience.

Previously reported at 11:30 a.m. on 5/15/25 – There is a water main break on Felters Road (Orchard Park area) between Carol Court & Theresa Blvd. The crews are on-site and working to repair the problem as quickly as possible. We ask that you avoid this area while the break is being fixed.
Some residents are currently without water while some may have low pressure. Please watch the Town of Binghamton’s website for further updates. If you have an urgent concern, please call the Water/Sewer Dept. at (607) 669-4323.
Please do not run your water if you’re being affected by the break. Once the repair is fixed, you can run the cold tap first and allow the cold water to run until any rust clears. Once the water runs clear, you can turn your hot water back on.
Thanks, everyone.
