Stray Dogs Are Taken to Broome County Humane Society

Any stray dogs that are picked up will be taken to:

Always leave a message if no one answers because they are often in the facility but away from the phone.

Shelter hours are:

  • Saturdays:  11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Closed Mondays
  • Tuesday through Friday:  Noon until 5 p.m.

Department Overview

The Town of Binghamton Dog Control Officer is in charge of enforcing dog regulations. Our Dog Control Officer responds to various dog-related incidents within the Town of Binghamton, including stray dogs, dog bites, barking complaints and the enforcement of licensing requirements.

Dog Complaints or Concerns

If you have a complaint or concern regarding a dog-related incident, please contact our Dog Control Officer. If you are directed to the Dog Control Officer’s voicemail, please leave a detailed message, including your contact information. Voicemails are regularly monitored.
