SENIOR CITIZEN ACTIVITIES PLANNED FOR JANUARY

The Town of Binghamton Seniors Commission has added some additional activities to their winter calendar.

Weds., January 15 – “Office for the Aging” will be at the Town Hall from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to present an overview of their services.  Please RSVP to (607) 772-0357, ext. 301 by Mon., 1/13/25.

Weds., January 22 – “Coloring for Adults” at the Town Hall from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Please RSVP to (607) 772-0357, ext. 301 by Mon., 1/20/25.

Thurs., January 23 – “Let’s Make Magnets” at the Town Hall from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Do you save lovely greeting cards?  Do you wish you could make something useful from the gorgeous pictures in magazines and seed catalogs?  Bring a selection – even your own photos- and we’ll decoupage them into useful and beautiful items, either intact or combined, into fanciful birds, flowers, or other designs.  We can even turn them into earrings!  Please RSVP to (607) 772-0357, ext. 301 no later than Mon., 1/20/25.

On Weds., January 29 – “Potluck Luncheon” at the Town Hall from noon to 2 p.m.  Please bring a dish to pass.  Please RSVP to (607) 772-0357, ext. 301 by Mon., 1/27/25.

On Thursday, January 30 – “Turn Sweaters into Toss Pillows” at the Town Hall from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Have you stored old sweaters because of their beautiful designs, sentimental value, or all the work you put into making them – but they’re no longer in style for wearing?  We can sew them with simple stitchery into pillows for your bed or couch and you can display them without taking up space in your closet for decades!  Please RSVP to (607) 772-0357, ext. 301 by Mon., 1/27/25.

COMING IN FEBRUARY:

Tuesday, February 11 – The Book Club will meet at the Town Hall from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to discuss “The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek” by Kim Michele Richardson.  If you haven’t read the book, please feel free to come anyway!  The Book Club will meet in the Conference Room at the Town Hall (located at 279 Park Avenue) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE:  The Book Club (as a group) chooses the books to be featured each month.  If you have a book you’d like to recommend, please bring it with you to the next meeting and join the club!
UPCOMING BOOK CLUB IN MARCH:  Tuesday, March 11, 2025 – “While I was Gone” by Sue Miller.

MOSAICS – DATE/TIME TO BE DETERMINED.
Do you ever wish you could do something with what’s left of a favorite piece of china – after it’s broken?  Save your pieces of crockery (or yard sale finds that you won’t mind breaking) and we’ll make trivets, lawn decorations, or stepping stone moasaics from them.

If you’re a resident of the Town of Binghamton (55 years and older), please feel free to join us!  These activities take place at the Town of Binghamton Town Hall, located at 279 Park Avenue.
