MEMORIAL DAY ACTIVITIES IN HAWLEYTON: Mon., 5/26/25

The ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY PARADE will be held assuming there are no major storms or torrential downpours.  The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the Hawleyton Fire Station and will proceed to the Hawleyton cemetery.  (Lineup will be from 9:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.)  Town of Binghamton Supervisor Elizabeth Rounds will be the guest speaker this year with Pastor Mary Jean Simonin, Pastor of the Hawleyton and Conklin Forks Methodist Churches, delivering the invocation and benediction.  Come out and experience small-town America at its best!

A SPECIAL MESSAGE TO TOWN OF BINGHAMTON SENIOR CITIZENS REGARDING THE  MEMORIDAL DAY PARADE.   This is a TOB Seniors event scheduled from 9:45 a.m. to 11 a.m.  This year, due to popular request to observe the speeches and commemorations at the end of the parade, the seniors group will meet at the most western Hawleyton Cemetery driveway on Saddlemire Road (closest to house #3541).  NOTE: Parking along Saddlemire is almost non-existent so arrive early if you want to park close by.  Otherwise, parking is available at the Hawleyton Methodist Church if you are able to walk to the cemetery.  Please RSVP by Sat., May 24 at noon by calling (607) 772-0357, ext. 301.  A minimum of five attendees are required or the event will be cancelled.  Bottled water and Memorial Day decorations will be available to the seniors.

The BINGHAMTON TOWNSHIP HISTORICAL SOCIETY MUSEUM, located at 923 Hawleyton Road, will be open from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Check out your hometown museum that houses some very interesting artifacts!
