COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS: Now Is The Time To Get On The Waiting List!

The Town of Binghamton is applying for funds from New York State to continue our successful housing rehabilitation program.  The funds from this CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) will be used for the rehabilitation of substandard, single-family, owner-occupied properties located within the boundaries of the Town.

NOTE:  This is the grant we’ve talked about many times in our Town newsletter.  In 2019, we had seventeen Town of Binghamton homeowners apply for and receive the grant money for home improvements projects.  This is a wonderful opportunity if you’re an income-eligible applicant!

In order to be eligible, household incomes must be lower than the amount shown below for your family size:

Income Requirements- Household Size

(Number of Persons)

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
Maximum Income $42,600 $48,700 $54,800 $60,850 $65,750 $70,600 $75,500 $80,350

This program may assist with, but is not limited to:  electrical, plumbing, heating, roofing, insulation, masonry, windows, doors, painting, and interior and exterior carpentry.

If you would like more information on the program, or would like a pre-application, please contact the Town’s consultant, Thoma Development Consultants, at (607) 753-1433.
